Amazing New Condo Developments In Toronto
Many of us (whether a Toronto resident or visitor) can agree that Toronto has looked rather '70's' for many many years. We have been a city of grey cement, with little other than the Roger's Centre and CN Tower to add dynamic to our skyline. But all of this is about to change with some very dramatic architecture that is under construction. With many new proposals and construction underway for futuristic and stylish looking condo-buildings, Toronto is about to get a fresh makeover. Here are some of the fabulous new developments to watch for:
Aqualuna By Tridel and Hines
Perhaps one of the most anticipated new developments in Toronto, Aqualuna is sure to make an impact in our city upon completion. It is the last phase of Bayside Community on Toronto's Waterfront, which was in great need of some sprucing up. This building has a very unique design that is foreign to Toronto's current skyline. With waves and curves, it will be set apart from the rest of the grey cement and glass towers in the city. It is a low rise (a new trend in upcoming Toronto developments) at 16 storeys and 225 suites. It's a stunner! And who doesn't want to live on the waterfront??
YSL (Yonge Street Living)
If you're afraid of heights, you may want to admire this elegant development from the streets rather than calling it home. It is an absolute monster at 98 stories (although there has been chatter about scaling it down). This stoic building will protrude through our current skyline and pop out above the rest. Right now this project is pre-construction, but it looks absolutely gorgeous and will feature a mix of office, retail and residential spaces.
K2 Kingsway By The River Condos
The Kingsway is quickly becoming a coveted west-end neighbourhood in Toronto, as it is geared toward young families and their busy lifestyles. Another low/mid-rise, K2 is phase 2 of the development, featuring an elegant and contemporary design over 8 storeys. It features convenient ground floor retail and overlooks the peaceful river. Living here would make coming home a true retreat.
Bloor And Royal York By One Properties
Another development in the ever-so-popular the Kingsway, this condo building is located on the southwest Bloor Street West and Humbervale Boulevard, just steps away from the Royal York subway station. A very convenient spot for professionals who work downtown. This building, while perhaps not as iconic looking as many of the other developments, its location is fantastic. The west-end of Toronto - especially The Kingsway has become increasingly desirable and new sophisticated developments are fitting in quite nicely with mid-rise buildings. Bloor and Royal York will feature retail space on the ground level and 81 residential suites for an intimate vibe.
Sugar Wharf By Menkes
In an effort to pretty up the Toronto waterfront, the pink umbrellas at Sugar Beach won't be the only attraction. 1500 units in 70 and 64 storey towers in phase one and 1927 units in 77, 87 and 90 storey towers will elegantly grace Toronto's waterfront. Integrated and preserved into the development will be the heritage LCBO headquarters along with a public school. The waterfront has a lot to offer and this location, in particular, has a perfect walk and transit score! BONUS POINTS!
Water Walk By Wyatt Developments
Let's head over to prestigious Oakville for this project! The luxury townhomes are something else. A completely different design from what you would expect from a townhouse development, it features large stylish windows and contemporary Cape Cod-inspired designs. These are really stunning! Buyers will enjoy a truly relaxed lifestyle in this community.
Auberge II, By Tridel
The second phase of Tridel's Auberge on the Park has 29 storeys at Eglinton and Leslie. Just above the 13.3-hectare Flemingdon Park, the development will feature 215 suites ranging from 1,069-2,177 square feet. The buildings have a unique look with protruding balconies of different sizes and dynamics creating an interesting design.
